TEES: OPEN DIVISION- BLUE TEES
SENIOR DIVISION- WHITE TEES
BUNKERS:
There are no rakes to smooth the bunkers after playing from them. You are entitled to lift clean and place no nearer the hole on smooth undisturbed sand if playing from a bunker. Please smooth the sand with your foot before leaving the bunker.
FLAGSTICKS:
Flagsticks are to remain in the hole at all times. A ball hitting the flagstick and popping out of the hole is not considered holed. The ball must remain in the cup to be considered holed.
SCORECARDS: You will be assigned a scorecard to keep score of a player in your group. Scorecards will not be exchanged at the end of the round. Scores can be verified verbally among the players in the group after the round and only the Marker has to sign the card before it is turned in. It is encouraged that all competitors go home immediately after finishing their round. There should be no gathering of players on the golf course property. There will not be a scoreboard on site. All scores, skins and closest to the pin winners will be posted on the GKGA website.
USGA RULES GOVERN ALL PLAY
There will not be a playoff if there is a tie for first place in either the Open or Senior Divisions. The winner will be determined by a card matchback using the USGA method of low back nine, followed by low last six holes, followed by low last three holes, followed by scores on individual holes working backwards from the 18th hole.
PAR THREE CLOSEST TO THE PIN CONTESTS (Provided by our GKGA Sponsors):
- Saturday– #4 and #13 Both Open and Senior Divisions (one dozen Bridgestone golf balls)
- Sunday– #4 and #16 Both Open and Senior Divisions ($50.00 pro shop gift certificates)
- Please use the hand sanitizer provided at the holes if you handle the tape measure or closest to the pin recording sign.
$20.00 covers both days for skins (bring exact change). Winners of skins will receive their winnings via mail after the tournament.The Biggby Award:
A $50.00 Biggby Coffee gift card is awarded to the player in both Open and Senior
Divisions that place just out of the money. The Biggby gift card will be mailed to the Open and Senior Division winner soon after the tournament. Ties will be broken by the USGA scorecard matchback method previously described.
Super Senior Awards: A $60.00 and $40.00 pro shop gift certificate is awarded to first and second place among the Super Senior players (65 and older).
All pro shop gift certificates can be picked up and redeemed at Milham Park when the pro shop reopens.
GKGA Steve Tyler Player of the Year Points are awarded for all our tournaments and the Kalamazoo County Amateur and are used to qualify the top twelve players in the Open and Senior Divisions to compete in the GKGA Finale at Harbor Shores on October 4th.
